This year for GivingTuesday we are looking for hope! Hope that in 2021 we can continue to support the activities that help people with Spina Bifida live bright and beautiful lives.

We are hoping that in 2021 kids with Spina Bifida can resume activities together like camp and sports. We hope that adults with Spina Bifida can resume and lead their activities that help their community.

We already have plans for more virtual ways to stay connected, informed and active too!

Help support our campaign of hope for 2021. Whether you'd like to support sending a kid to camp (or virtual camp), a college scholarship or a leadership program for adults, you are supporting hope for all those impacted by Spina Bifida.

Our goal is $5,000-- that goes a long way in an organization like ours!

GivingTuesday is a day set aside to consider the needs of those in our community during the season of giving. It has grown into a global movement that has inspired hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

In 2020 we are looking for hope!

This is our first time promoting this worldwide giving event and we are centering it on our hopes right here in Iowa and surrounding states. This year, when you make a donation to SBA’s GivingTuesday campaign, you’ll be supporting programs for kids and adults to stay active, informed and connected.

Here are some examples of programs and activities for people with Spina Bifida in Iowa and our surrounding states:

$700 is the total cost to send a kid to a week-long camp just for kids with Spina Bifida in Iowa/South Dakota (when it’s safe to go back to camp!)

$500 a year is available as a college scholarship for students with Spina Bifida who want to attend college

$350 will support registration for a leadership empowerment program to help adults with disabilities be active in their community.

$350 will support registration from one kid to go to a sports camp and participate in adapted sports like basketball, track, tennis, rock climbing, swimming and more!

$50/month funds recreational programs for people with Spina Bifida to participate in adaptive exercise programs (virtual or in person)

$50 will send a family to SBA 2021 virtual “Teal on the Hill” advocacy program on Capitol Hill

Thank you for helping us support the active lives of kids and adults impacted by Spina Bifida in 2021!
